What's coming soon to the Deerfold Centre
Events, classes and workshops.
Another chance to have your cake, and eat it at the Deerfold Centre's Merry Christmas coffee morning.
Following on from her great baking bonanza at the Centre's Summer Open Day in June, our sweet treat creator Diane will be serving up another tasty selection on Saturday, December 7 from 10am to 1 pm.
Diane’s culinary skills are well known at Eastbourne’s Community Hub in Seaside, which offers low-cost provisions on several days of the week to those on limited incomes. She converted proceeds of the cake stall at our summer event into packages of much needed basic foodstuffs and will be using the Christmas coffee and cake sales to ease festive food bills for Hub regulars.
Coffee morning visitors will also have the chance for a little bit of Christmas retail therapy with hand-made cards and crafts and a chance for a chat with Deerfold circle dancers who are pretty nifty with their knitting needles too. There will also be some carefully crafted garden pieces by Langney Men’s Shed members, who made our summer open day a real hit with their exhibition of craftwork and lively entertainment. Shed musical members, known as Clean Sweep, demonstrated how to make cigar box electric guitars sing.
